Exploring the Exciting Color Trends of 2024: A Guide to Infuse Vibrancy and Style

The Hottest Color Trends of 2024: From Pantone's Color of the Year to Designer Favorites

· Decorating,DIY

Regardless of the industry, ALL trends shift from year to year and, over time, old trends become “dated” and we naturally look for something NEW and "up-to-date." Whether it’s in our diets, our habits, our fashion, our homes, or even our lifestyles, we look for ways to improve. It’s just human nature!

While I don't think it's a great idea (nor is it affordable) to jump on every “New Trend” that comes along, I do think it’s important to at least KNOW what is currently trending. Read on to explore some of this year’s hottest COLOR trends. You might just find a little inspiration to refresh your own home!

On average, color trends typically last 3-5 years, shifting and expanding each year with major color shifts happening about every 5-7 years.

One of the most influential factors in the world of design and fashion is COLOR trends. Each year, the Pantone Color Institute announces the "Pantone Color of the Year," which sets the tone for various industries, including interior design, fashion, graphic design, and more. Etsy, the renowned online marketplace for handmade and vintage goods, also showcases a specific color chosen by their team of experts. It's chosen as a representative of the prevailing aesthetic and design direction for the upcoming year.

This is an exciting time for ME as it not only inspires me to update my designs for new products and collections, but also inspires me in updating and decorating my own home!

I’ve found that when I stay up to date with the latest design trends, I can often create a fresh, “trending” look by simply updating some of the pieces I already own. Now, I'm not a huge fan of the color peach, however when paired with Etsy's color of the year, it adds a subtle little POP of color to this round wall planter.

Like Pantone and Etsy, top paint companies also share their predictions. We’ll be seeing less of the many shades of gray and the all-white rooms of yesteryear and we'll start seeing more warmth and contrast as color trends are shifting into a more “earthy” color palette for 2024. Think earthy greens, calming blues, and warmer neutral tones.
